ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY STUDIES

The International School of Hospitality Studies (ISHS) is a joint venture between Nguyen Tat Thanh  College (NTT), based in Ho Chi Minh City, and The Learning Institute.

NTT is the largest vocational college in Ho Chi Minh City and has just received approval, in principle, from the Prime Minister, to become a university.

The Learning Institute is the education division of the British-owned NRH Group, and is a leader in developing students within Asia to enhance their future prospects.

Our philosophy and approach

ISHS aims to provide high-quality, internationally recognized programs that provide students with the knowledge, skills and aptitudes to become future leaders in the fast-growing tourism industry, in Vietnam or overseas. Our programs are equal to similar programs from overseas and will be taught in English, the international language of business and travel. The programs provide articulation (progression) to full degree programs offered by reputable overseas universities.

Our approach will be to provide a very comprehensive program of study, interactive and innovative teaching and applied learning. We will ensure theory and practice are fully integrated to provide a holistic learning experience for students to equip them for the real world of work and business. Our language programs will also be applied and practical and enable students to confidently communicate in English as well as gain an internationally recognized IELTS qualification.

We will develop our students to be able to think for themselves, solve problems and take responsibility for their own learning as well as their personal and professional development. Therefore we will be encouraging independent and self-directed learning inside and outside the classroom to encourage all round development of students and equip them for life and work in a fast-paced world that is changing rapidly and requires flexible and adaptable workers.

We aim to make ISHS and its programs recognized as the best of their kind in Asia, and to become highly sought after by students in Vietnam. The programs will be compatible with overseas programs, thus enabling international exchanges with overseas institutions.

We will develop professional partnerships with hotels and restaurants in Vietnam and overseas to enable our students to gain the best educational internships with established learning pathways and ‘on-the-job’ learning from professionals in the industry. In addition, we will develop our own food and beverage laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City to give students experience in F&B operations.
