BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management
Our BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management from Edexcel takes students to a higher level by providing them with more extensive management development to help them to fast track into a management trainee position, and to work in hotel operations – guest services, rooms division, food and beverage operations as well as special events and conferences. As with the National Diploma, graduates will be able to find work opportunities in business and leisure hotels, resorts, conference centers, restaurants as well as in the travel and tourism industry.

Students can also progress in their studies after completing the Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management in several universities in the UK, USA and Australia through advanced standing either into the second or final year of their undergraduate degree.
Duration
Three years (including intensive English and 6 months industry placement)
Entry Requirement
Completion of the National Award in Hospitality (entry into year 3 of the BTEC Higher National Diploma), or at least 3 years experience in the hospitality industry, or IELTES level 5 (other)
Areas of study could include Hospitality English, Marketing & Promotions, HR Management, Finance & Accounting, Front Office Operations, Food and Beverage Service, Rooms Division Operations, Customer Relations & Service, Conferences and Banqueting etc.
Assessment
The program uses a varied mix of assignments, projects, coursework, portfolio, journals and work-place assessment rather than examinations. Our aim is to help students learn and apply knowledge to real life situations and to be able to demonstrate their competence in appropriate ways rather than memorizing information.
Teaching & Learning Methods
Our academic staff are experienced professionals from the hotel and tourism industry and have extensive teaching experience. We will use a variety of teaching and learning methods to enhance student learning through lectures, tutorial discussions, workshops, case studies, problem-based learning. Learning will take place in classrooms, online, in computer labs and Food & Beverage Labs.
